The TR-180 is another stylish coat-pocket radio made by Sharp in 1958. The entire face plate is molded from a single piece of clear plastic. The shape of the mold and silver reverse paint create the diamond-cut effect over the speaker area, while the section on the right is painted white. The tuning dial knob is also reverse-painted in white and gold. On this model, the Sharp name and model number are painted on the surface of the face plate. Also note the absence of CD marks.
The cabinet proper is the same as used on the Sharp TR-173 "COLLIE". To date, I have seen this cabinet in the black and blue colours shown here, as well as in salmon pink.
