Toshiba 6TM-225S
"TRANSISTOR ALL WAVE"
Released in mid-1958 as the company's second stab at building a 2-band radio, the 6TM-225S represents early Toshiba design at its best. I love the shade of green used, the blend with the ivory back cover and knob rims, as well as the lettering and numbers on the reverse painted tuning dial cover. It's hard to say for sure, but I think the speaker grille might be plated in real silver.
This radio falls within the category many collectors refer to as coat-pocket radios. Not only is it smaller than many AM-only radios of its day, it is extremely compact when compared to other 2-band radios that were coming to market in 1958 and fits easily in the hand.
