Here you see the spiffy two-tone leather carrying case that shipped with earlier production units. Hitachi later shipped the TH-667 with a monotone case in the same light green colour used on the lower section of the case pictured here.

The shipping box sports the stylized "6" and other design elements of the boxes used earlier on the TH-668 and early-production TH-621. The pouch in the foreground contains the earphone and external antenna wire, and a shoulder strap completes the set. Note that I've also seen the same shipping box in yellow. (The yellow box I saw happened to contain a light blue TH-667, but I don't know if the colour of the radio and its box are directly related.)
