The somewhat soiled box on the right is the earlier version in which the ivory unit on these pages was packaged. The stylish design shares elements with the box for the contemporary TH-668. A close look reveals that the polishing cloth and vinyl bag that holds it are still in Japanese. Hitachi later redesigned the shipping box while eliminating much of the padding inside to make the package considerably smaller.
