NEC NT-79A
Viewing the NT-79A sandwiched between a Sony TR-65 and Toshiba 6TP-219 should give an idea of the model's relatively compact size for a late fifties 2-band coat-pocket radio.
The antenna is shown only partially extended. It's an eleven-section telescopic antenna with smooth action that reaches a height of about 2-feet when fully extended. To me, it is also reminiscent of a design seen later on drawings of transceivers in some sixties cartoons.
